Brought to life
in 1995
Antiworld mixes punk rock and horror
to create the sound
and vision known as Deathrock .
Since their creation Antiworld has proven to be a
versatile force touring the U.S.,
Europe and the U.K. as headliner,
supported by a colorful variety of
bands.
They are one of the front runners in today’s
deathrock scene
and have built loyal following worldwide.
Virtually nothing was going on in
the Deathrock
/Batcave
world in 1995
when Antiworld got together and decided
to bring a bit of the dark side back to punk rock.
They started up without any other
bands around
that were of a like mind,
and have ended up inspiring a whole new generation
and miraculously, made long dead bands
sit up, take notice and reform.
After spending a few years touring
the West Coast
including "Release The Bats",
they embarked on a journey to Germany to play at
the well known club "Zwischenfall" for a"Pagan Love Songs"
evening in 2001,
followed by a performance at the sensational
Herbstnachte Festival.
They made their film debut in the
2001 underground adventure
"Devils, Dragons & Vampires"
which featured the band in a live sequence
and
throughout the soundtrack.
In 2002 they headed back to Europe
for a full tour
with the highlight
being their headlining spot
at WGT festival’s Werk2 venue.
April 2003 saw the band featured
at the
"Beyond the Veil" festival in Leeds,U.K.
Antiworld
was the first band
of the new wave of U.S.Deathrock bands
to play in the the U.K.
This festival was called
"The most groundbreaking gothic festival
in the U.K. this year".
The band preformed brilliantly,were sponsored by Jagermeister
and were featured in the Yorkshire Post.
August 2003 Antiworld co-headlined
the very first
"Drop Dead Festival" in N.Y.C.
at the legendary "C.B.G.B." nightclub
followed by a tour of the East Coast with
contemporaries,"Cinema Strange".
This was the first official Deathrock festival
to take place in the U.S.
With the release of the double CD
"Comedy of Terrors" came the
May/June 2004
East/West European & U.K. Tour
with another hot spot atWave Gotik Treffen Festival,
a trip to London,then onto Slovakia and Poland.
In 2005 the band started plans
for their own music videos
and have since produced several of which you can see on YouTube
"Death Drive 2005" Tour
featured a West Coast journey with
the Slovakian band "The Last Days of Jesus"
2006 brought the release of
"Devils, Dragons & Blood Sucking Bats"
the sequel to D.D.V. which featured the band cast
in the roll of
"The Counsel of Elders",
as well as in live footage and
songs throughout the soundtrack.
Antiworld finished recording "Still Outcast", a 13 song album
which includes 4 music videos and was released in the fall
of 2007
on Dark Dimensions/ Alice In...label
On Halloween
2007 in Prague
the band met up with
the legendary,
"Lene Lovich"and had the honor of performing together with her
at the Drop Dead Prague Festival, one of her classic numbers “Home”.
Antiworld
appeared
on the local television series "Mary Tyler Morbid".
Three members of the band own
classic hearses. Their vehicles have been featured in films, videos, photo
shoots, and can been seen at community events and car shows. They
are active with local haunters, and in October they are honored guests
at some of the Northwest’s
most notorious haunted attractions.
Antiworld have
been featured on numerous music
compilations
throughout
their career Most notably within their genre of music the
"Rozz Williams" tribute
featuring their version of "Figurative Theater".
The band has had their music reviewed and
have been featured in
the largest
and most prestigious gothic music magazines
throughout Europe and the U.K.
